Child Soldiers

Today we will look at another perspective after Remembrance Day and it is that of the soldier. More specifically, we will look at the story of Michel Chikwanine, who was a child soldier in Sierra Leone who now lives in Ontario and helps to raise awareness about conditions in his home country. We will be looking using the following lesson plan from Free the Children to examine the subject in detail.

The virtue of the month for November is justice and we will be looking at examples of issues in the world to illustrate this theme. The first is the story of Malala Yousafzai, the teenaged activitist for girls' rights to education.
